CYC Summer Programs


The CYC’s summer programs provide a safe and stimulating environment for all age groups. Each program features quality supervised and friendly instruction, along with low staff to participant ratio for an exciting summer experience.


Jr. Playgroup
Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 9 am - 4 pm 
Age: 4-6
Location: CYC 2 Lancaster Avenue 

The Jr. Playgroup program provides a safe, warm and inviting environment for children to participate in fun activities all summer long. Children are involved in both active and quiet games, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, music and movement, swim time at the wading pool and special trips each week. Children are asked to bring their own healthy snack daily; however, CYC can provide snacks for those who cannot otherwise. Special features include low staff to child ratio (1:5) and an end of summer special event.



All Day Sports Camp


Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Age: 7-13
Location: Rose Avenue P.S. 

The All Day Sports Camp is a non-competitive activity program. The philosophy of the camp is to expose children to a wide variety of sports and to develop fundamental physical movement skills and coordination, while they gain an appreciation for personal fitness through the joy of activity. The large variety of activities included are: cooperative games, ball hockey, basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, tennis and recreational swimming. Children are asked to bring their own healthy lunch and two snacks daily; however, the CYC can provide lunch for those who cannot otherwise. Special features include weekly off site trips and weekly tournament days.


Performing Arts Camp

Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Age: 8-13
Location: Rosedale Heights School of the Arts 

The Performing Arts camp is designed to provide vocal, dramatic and dance training to youth in an innovative and enjoyable program. Youth of all performance levels, from beginner to advanced, are invited to register. Participants learn a variety of dance styles including: ballet, jazz, hip hop and African. Children are asked to bring their own healthy lunch and two snacks daily. However, CYC can provide lunch for those who otherwise cannot. Special features include weekly off site trips, special guest instructors, and an end of the year summer performance for the whole camp.

Summer Basketball Training
Date: Monday to Friday
9 am - 12:00 noon (8 - 13 years old)
1 pm - 4 pm (10 - 14 years old)
Age: 11-18
Location: Rosedale Heights School of the Arts

Taught by qualified coaches, participants learn the basic rules of basketball, develop skills and play in a fun and challenging environment. This program emphasizes sportsmanship and cooperative team spirit

Summer Basketball League
Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 4 pm - 9 pm
Age: 11-18
Location: Rosedale Heights School of the Arts
CYC offers a competitive summer basketball league for youth to participate in. It focuses on fun, skill development, and improving physical fitness. The league is administered by official referees, and qualified coaches.
Tennis Camp (offered by the Philpott tennis organization)
Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 12 pm - 1 pm
Age: 8-14
Location: Rose Avenue P.S. 

The CYC partners with the Doug Philpott Inner City Children’s Tennis organization to provide a free tennis program to children in the community. All children registered receive highly qualified tennis instruction.


Computer Camp

Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 1 pm - 3 pm
Age: 5-16
Location: Room 112, Rose Avenue P.S. 
The CYC Computer Camp offers instruction on basic computing, word processing and basic Internet use. The CYC works with the TDSB to provide computers with Internet access to children throughout the summer.  
Summer Soccer League
Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
Age: 4-14
Location: Winchester P.S., Rose Avenue P.S. 

The Summer Soccer League is one of the largest programs at the CYC and is considered a community tradition. The Summer Soccer League would not be possible without the generosity of 20 Cabbagetown businesses that sponsor the teams in the league, the 300 children that participate and the numerous parent and community volunteers.
The CYC relies on the support of the community. If you are interested in sponsoring a team this year please contact us at 416-960-1032. Your sponsorship will provide jerseys for one team with your company name printed prominently on the front, team pictures, equipment, awards and refreshments for the end of season banquet.

Karate Camp
Date: Monday and Friday
Time: 10:30 am - 12 pm
Age: 7-18
Location: 280 Wellesley St. East 
The Summer Karate Camp focuses on self-defence, skill development, kicking, punching, katas, and sparring. Qualified coaches aid youth in acquiring the necessary skills to move forward with training.  
Soccer Camp
Date: Monday to Friday
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Age: 8-14
Location: WInchester P.S. 
The Summer Soccer Camp offers a variety of conditioning and training which focuses on skill development, kicking, passing, shooting, trapping, and a daily scrimmage. Youth are instructed by qualified coaches who help them enhance their soccer abilities.
